Respecting heritage while preparing young people for the future
Cultural participation can strengthen belonging, identity and
intergenerational connection. Youth programs should encourage
respect for community heritage while also equipping young people
to navigate contemporary education, work and civic life.
Safeguarding
Youth programs must provide safe and responsible environments
Activities involving children and young people should follow
appropriate safeguarding, supervision, consent and protection
practices. Serious concerns should be referred through suitable
professional or statutory channels where necessary.
